Artist's Biography

Marie Jager was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1975, and lives and works in Los Angeles where she received her MFA from the University of Southern California School in 2004. Her work has been presented in such venues as Artists Space (NY), China Art Objects (LA), the MAK Center (LA), Croy Nielsen (Berlin), and Jeffrey Charles Gallery (London) Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA, LA) and the Henry Art Gallery (Seattle). She was included in the 2006 California Biennial and her work was recently part of the DVD “compiler 2” curated by Daniel Bauman and screened at the Swiss Institute in New York, her work has been written about recently in Flash Art and Artforum.



Curator's Biography

Wendy and Amy Yao were born and raised in Los Angeles, and over the last two decades have collaborated together in various bands, such as Emily’s Sassy Lime, Meditation Duo, and Shady Ladies. They have also worked together in curatorial projects such as their long-running Art Swap Meet at Andrea Zittel’s High Desert Test Sites. In 1999, Amy co-founded China Art Objects Gallery with three fellow art librarians, and is now a practicing artist residing in New York City. She received her MFA from Yale in 2007 and exhibits her work nationally while teaching art at City College New York. Wendy is the founder and owner of Ooga Booga store in Chinatown, specializing in artist books, art ephemera, music and design, from 2004 to the present.
